Slovene Parliament adopted the Access to public sector information Act, which entered into force on the 22nd of March 2003.  

There is no general law in Slovenia on the distribution and commercial exploitation of information held by the public body. There are some examples of good practice in Slovenia, relating  to commercialisation and public/private sector cooperation in the field of PSI. 

According to the Ministry of Information Society there are in year 2004 no major disputes in Slovenia concerning the commercial use of PSI.
